Azim Premji
Azim Hashim Premji was born in 1945, on July 24th. He is a renowned businessman of India as well as a philanthropist, holding the post of Chairman of Wipro Limited and has worked for the growth and diversification of this company, guiding it since the last four decades, to make it reach a stage where it is among the leaders in Indian software industry. As per the Forbes list, he is ranked third among the wealthiest Indians and in the world is ranked 41st as on 2012, with 15.9 billion pounds of wealth of his own.
Asiaweek voted him in 2000, as one in the list of 20 men with power in entire world. TIME magazine had him listed two times as one among the people with most influence in the top 100, in 2004 and then again in 2011. Azim Premji has ownership of 79 percent in the company, he also owns PremjiInvest, which is a equity fund of his own, managing his portfolio which is personal with a fund of 1 billion pounds.
